Northern Lights began really making a show the last couple years around the world. This phenomenon has been happening particularly around the northwest, and even Cashmere. God speaks to me through creation so much and especially with Aurora Borealis showing up in our part of the country. I believe they started showing up over Cashmere during a week Cashmere in 2023 the night after a visiting speaker shared at aworship night about unity in the body of Christ ,declaring signs and wonders would be displayed in creation. He powerfully shared about the blood of Jesus “speaking louder” over Washington state than anything the darkness is doing.  God is victorious in the heavens and on earth. I wanted to partner with Him in what He is declaring in the skies over our state, with HIS glory. It was 'burning in my bones' ever since I saw pictures of them posted on social media, to capture Northern Lights in watercolor. I pray they shout hope to you as well in the darkest of nights.

This painting is from the Northwest series done in mixed media, which were created as a type of ‘living prayer’ for the places around the valley I grew up in, as well as other Northwest destinations that have had special meaning and are close to my heart. Mountains have always fascinated me with the strength and beauty they represent and inspire me to create. I hope this series creates a connection for you with the peace and beauty of this part of the Northwest I call home.
