"Consider the lilies" is just the initial meaning one can gather from this piece, with the creating of actual lilies here with the white lines. The layers of metallic paint and color you can really only catch in certain light or angles, is appropriate to symbolize the layers of meaning, found in so many different contexts and scriptures with the word "consider", throughout the Bible. The 'consider' verses I most connect to and speak to my soul are when God asks us to "consider" something. (Check out Psalms, Job, Proverbs,Luke, Acts, Romans, just to name a few!)

The dignity, the invitation, the challenge, and the opportunity implied in that one word coming from the God of the universe, aimed at mere human vessels He created- well it blows me away like the wind! While some passers by might think the word quite strange to be center stage on a piece of art, I love the mystery and invitation it provokes.
